Harry Potter and Adolf Hitler

Over the past few years I have been reading the Harry Potter series, and I have noticed some key similarities between the prejudice and racism in the “wizarding world” and the “real world”. One example of this would be the existence of Death Eaters in the wizarding world, and the Nazis of the real world. Another example would be Voldemorts role in the wizarding world, compared to his muggle* counter part Adolf Hitler. There are other minor details I have noticed that I will discus later.
The Death Eaters that exist in Harry’s world are in many ways similar to the Nazi armies that once existed in the past of the real world. The main goal of the Death Eater was to exterminate the world of “mud-blood” or half blood wizards, whose parents or ancestors are of non-magical breed. There real world counter part the Nazi, tried to exterminate the Jewish People by means of death and torture. They both believed they were more powerful then the people they killed, and boasted that to the world.
Another similarity was the existence real world existence of Adolf Hitler and the magical existence of Tom Marvolo Riddle or more popularly known as Lord Voldemort. Both Adolf and Voldemort had many followers, and both had the same intention…to rid the world of another people that they had developed hatred for. Adolf led the Nazi party in the attempted demise of the Jews. Voldemort led (and still leads) the Death Eaters against the half bloods.
Beside the similarities of the Nazi and Death Eater, there are other things that tie in with the racism that has been seen (and in some cases is still seen) in both the magical and real worlds. While the wizards of Jk Rowlings world have never shown a prejudism towards who is black and who is white, some wizards have used the term “mud-blood” to denote wizards that are not of a pure blood line, or a person who has both muggle* and magical parents. In our world we face the problem of people that think they are better than one another just because of the color of there skin. In both worlds a lot of people have come to accept the differences, but there are still the few that think those differences are important.
It is true that racism and prejudism exists everywhere whether you want to believe it or not. Unfortunately the world is not perfect, and we have these problems. But when you think about it, where would the world be without problems?
*a muggle is a person who has no magic (a regular human)

well your stupid because you act like the Jews never did anything wrong, the Jewish people believed that they were the only pure race, and that everthing else deserved to be treated like house elves. i hate how people take bit n scraps of what could possibly symbolic to shit that you are uninformed about

I found this same connection. It happened while watching on of the movies. Once the first connection was made, it was easy to see the others and there are many.
Scott, first-why did you say * and that everything else*? Are other people who are not Jewish things? are they not people as well? When you want to be heard or have your comments taken seriously, please think before you open your mouth. And opening a comment with *well your stupid* makes readers think that you have not thought out what you are saying. This makes others not take what you said seriously.Just so you know, nothing in this post said anything about the Jews doing nothing wrong. You do make a good point that Jews saw themselves above others. They were content to co-exist with others, even if that existence was not an even trade.
The point made in this entry was that Hitler CHOSE to go above that and kill all he thought were inferior. Yes the Jews thought that they were better but they CHOSE to prove they were “better” in how they treated others instead of killing off everyone they thought was not “equal” to them.
Even in the real world, Hitler was part Jewish and did not fit the context of the Aryan race he was trying to make. This is the same of Tom Riddle. He abandoned his old life and created one that others would follow. Riddle was a “mud-blood”. He even stated that his father was a muggle. But he was trying to create something he wanted even if he himself was not. It was something others could see and hold onto.
One more thing before i go, this article is right on point. I have been doing my own research on this topic, and this article is correct. yes there are things left out that probably should have been in it, but lack of these facts does not mean the writer did not see or notice them. It could also be that the writer wanted to write more but wanted to see how this article fared before writing more.

You are missing one thing. Not only is Harry Potter and The life of Hitler about the same. Hitler was half jewish him-self as Lord Voldermort was half Muggle, yet they both Despised that side of the family. Hitler Blamed his father, which was Jewish, for his horid life and Lord Voldermort did the same. At one point Hitler was an orphan as such was Voldermort. Only difference is that Hilter was a coward and Killed Himself where as Voldermort was killed.
